Sara Fahad Alfardan

Head of Communications and PR, Alfardan Group

Sara Fahad Alfardan is a graduate of Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service in Qatar and a graduate of MSc in Leadership and development from King’s College London.


Sara currently works at Alfardan Group as the Head of Communications and PR. When she joined the family business in 2018, she passionately worked towards spreading and expanding her story-telling experience to the whole country. She is a passionate story-teller, striving to create a culture where the community and society openly discusses and shares their stories with the world. Her work aims to transform Qatar into a hub of unique stories from all over the world, and positioning Qatar as a country, with a lot to share and a lot to explore.


Prior to joining Alfardan Group, Sara worked at Qatar Foundation’s Communications Directorate in the office of the Chief Communications Officer where she focused mainly on humanizing brands and initiatives. Sara worked closely with the QF Communications Directorate to create visual media campaigns that highlight the developments, achievements, and lives of locals and residents in Qatar Foundation.


During her undergraduate years, Sara was always intrigued by the role of gender in today’s societies, especially the role gender plays in development and contributing to the current economy. She spent her junior year of college at the main campus of Georgetown University in Washington DC, focusing and honing her classes towards gender studies. She majored in culture and politics with a focus on women in the economy, she later polished her academics by attending King’s College in London to focus on the role of how leadership and development goes hand in hand with the participation of women in the economy. Her master’s dissertation focused mainly on how women’s role in leadership positions in Qatar, specifically in the field of politics and business, changed over the past decades.


Apart from her research and development experience, Sara has always been passionate about storytelling and visual media. Her passion for film started during her last few years of high school at Qatar Academy, where she studied film in IB. She later went on to establish and host Qatar’s first MUN film festival, now known as “THIMUN Film Festival Qatar.”

On the personal side of business, Sara joined hands with her sister to launch Flat 77, a café that offers heartwarming beverages, nourishing light bites and versatile spaces for work, study and socializing.


Sara is also an active member of the Qatari Businesswomen Association, an organization established in year 2000 to provide the platform to empower business and professional women and to unlock the potential of future generations in support to the Qatar National Vision 2030.
